Legalization Reform, Rama: We will soon establish a new system with clear

Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke today about the legalization process in Albania. During a meeting with citizens in Kashar, Rama said that some legalizations are impossible with the current law. But he made it clear that the work on legalizations continues. "Many legalizations have been done, about 300 thousand have been done. Some of them are impossible with the current law, it's not on the collector, it's not on the road. But anyway, another part needs to be done because they can be done. What worries me is why someone who made the request in 2010 still has to wait, while someone who made the request in 2018 gets it earlier. You can't start and finish the block, because then it's up to the other person in the next block, who has been waiting since 2010, to continue waiting, while here in this block, the person who made the request in 2018 gets the legalization earlier. Therefore, what we have asked for and will be done now, is that a system will be created now with clear criteria, with years and people will be told to wait because we are in year X. This will create more clarity for people. However, the work continues and legalizations are done annually. We are digitizing everything "The maps, because the cadastre has the information on the maps and so far 54 million sheets have been scanned. So calculate for yourself how much work has been done," Rama said, among other things.

Meanwhile, at the meeting, Rama also spoke about economic developments, particularly in the tourism sector. "The change in our position in the international arena has come as a result of the fact that we also had something to show, not simply that we knew how to show it, and I believe that what we had to show is a different Albania, another Albania. When we started this work, Albania had 2 million or so tourists, where we also counted those who returned from trips abroad as tourists. So, all those who entered the borders were counted, regardless of whether they had an Albanian passport or a foreign passport. We have reached 12 million with a foreign passport. We do not count them only as tourists or as visitors to Albania. Of course, there are also Albanians who have received another passport with a foreign passport, but those who come with a foreign passport, regardless of whether they may be people returning for vacation or returning to see family, are counted among visitors worldwide. At that time, the average foreign investment in Albania was 300-400 million euros per year. Now, we have exceeded 1.5 billion and all this is money that enters the economy. So, we have changed the face of Albania, but of course we have a lot of things that need to change. What do I mean by this? The economy is growing, by building more apartments, buying more apartments, but this growth is inversely proportional to the infrastructure, to other needs and although we made a solution for a school, I still do not believe that we have solved anything big because we need another and another and another. I am talking about the school, but if we talk about primary health care, it is still a problem because there are all these people. All these are challenges", said Prime Minister Rama.
