Rama: Task force for waste. We strengthen emergency capacities

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with the mayors of the municipalities, where he discussed solving several problems. He spoke about establishing a task force for waste and drafting a plan that extends from awareness-raising to concrete steps.
"Raising the level of civil emergencies at the local level. The Minister of Local Government and Defense have taken on the task of cooperating to strengthen local capacity in relation to emergencies. We are working to overhaul the waste collection system, which we have announced regarding the aspect of waste processing, but I am talking about waste that is generally a problem, especially during the tourist season, in areas of municipalities that are not urban areas. For this, it is necessary to establish a task force between the government and local government, which is what the Minister of Environment and Local Government has been tasked with drafting a short-term, medium-term, and long-term plan from mass awareness to steps that need to be taken," said Rama.
According to the Prime Minister, a new fleet of vehicles will be provided to help with the cleaning of canals and the necessary preparatory work for the following seasons to ease both the irrigation processes and the consequences resulting from floods. Rama added that this is a project that will be implemented in the coming months with significant financial support from the United Arab Emirates.
Following this, Prime Minister Rama said that municipalities should establish a legal assistance office for the cadastre so that it can build priority legalization plans and determine priority areas.
