Rama: Something completely new is happening, the state is participating in the venture
Something is happening in Albania for the first time: the state is increasing its presence in entrepreneurship. This is what Prime Minister Rama told the Socialist MPs in his closing speech at the parliamentary group meeting. Rama explained this increase in presence with the example of the state-owned company KAYO, which will also be involved in shipbuilding.
"Something completely new is happening in Albania. The state is participating in entrepreneurship, the complete opposite of the path that leads to abuse of public assets, to abuse of public funds, I am talking here about abuse in the absence of a far-sighted approach."
Today, the last session of negotiations was held and may still be in progress with one of the world's greatest excellences, Fincantieri, the leading Italian company in shipbuilding. Thanks to our public company KAYO, we have entered into an agreement with the Financier for a joint company, 51% will be held by the Italians, 49% by the Albanian state. The company's activity in the port of Pashaliman will ensure that, on the one hand, the Albanian army continues to build its naval force, by producing the ships at its disposal locally, will maintain them with a company that the Albanian state has shares in and will definitely create specialized units with high salaries. It will also receive orders from other countries that it will sell. From the sale, the Albanian state, the armed forces will benefit 49%. It will maintain the coast guard ships of NATO countries in Albania, 49% by the Albanian state.
Meanwhile, you hear that a KAYO has been created to channel drug money and pave the way for arms smuggling. This is not a private company, nor is a private person hiding.
