At the Socialist Group meeting, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the construction of the new commercial and military port in Porto-Romano envisages the creation of a free economic zone.
He said that this project, which will serve Pristina, Skopje, the EU and NATO, is one of the most complicated processes.
According to Rama, this project has caused jealousy among other countries as well as hostility. In his speech, Rama said:
"The construction of the new Commercial and Military Port on one side in Porto Romano foresees a tripling of the current processing capacities and the creation of a free economic zone, the Logistics Park, while paving the way for 2 new dry ports in Pristina and Skopje, creating a new node with considerable strategic and logistical power, not only for the region, but also as an added value for the European Union and NATO. It is one of the most complex processes that we have undertaken. It is a strategic plan that has also created jealousy, which is common between countries that are at a certain stage of development.
