Baby milk "Aptamil" withdrawn from the market - AKU receives

Another brand of baby formula has been found to contain a toxin that is very dangerous to their health.

The National Food Authority informs the public about the notification received from the RASFF System, after during official controls carried out in Germany, the presence of the substance cereulide, a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus, was found in infant formula.

Specifically, it concerns the product APTAMIL 1 PRONUTRA 800G ADVANCED; Item number 172911; Expiration date: 10/11/2026.

The National Food Authority informs that the inspection teams on the ground are engaged in the verification and immediate withdrawal of the product from the market. The NFA calls on consumers if they have purchased this product and are able to, to return it to the points of sale.

This is the second time this problem has been identified in infant milk this month. A few days ago, the National Food Authority withdrew the batch of “NAN 1 OPTIPRO” 800g infant formula from the market, following the announcement made by the manufacturing company Nestle as a preventive measure after the discovery of the presence of cereulide bacteria in this product at the manufacturing facility in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, several entities that market these milk brands have also reacted, informing consumers that if they have any milk, they can return it and not consume it.

Also, the NFA informs that from field verifications it was found that the consumer notice was posted in the supermarkets where this product was marketed, while the products in question are being destroyed or returned to their country of origin.
