Project for the revitalization of the Former Autotractor Plant - Rama: Focus on military production and job creation
Prime Minister Edi Rama presented the project to revitalize the Former Autotractor Factory, which will serve the military industry, for the production of uniforms and the assembly of armored vehicles.
"Here we are talking about a major development for our Armed Forces and for the country's economy. We have a number of projects for the revitalization of an old, defunct infrastructure, such as this specific case, but also of other infrastructures. Our goal is to build a complete network for the needs of the Armed Forces, the Police and the Fire Service, but also for export. The increase in the budget for the Ministry of Defense will serve to create new links in a production chain, opening new jobs and stimulating technological development."
Minister of Defense Pirro Vëngu, during his speech, indicated that the coming years will be those that will belong to the military development of the country and not only.
"The Autotractor Plant has been one of the most important institutions in the country. We are working with a series of hearings in military and mechanical plants, as part of the Socialist Party's program for the military industry. This decade will be one of increased investment in the defense sector. Albania's strategy is that, whenever we invest in the military industry, we invest in parallel for the State Police. So, we are in an enterprise where, every purchase that Albania will make for these structures, will be made locally, promoting employment. This industry will serve for the production of military and police uniforms, as well as for the creation of armored vehicles."
The revitalization of this structure will not only be to meet the country's needs, but also for export.
