Pensions and bonuses, 150 million euros transferred to the account - Normative act in the Parliament, Malaj: Supports the needy

The latest normative act for changes to the 2025 budget was discussed in the parliamentary session. During its presentation, the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, emphasized that the support of the most needy groups, such as beneficiaries of economic assistance and persons with disabilities, was addressed, and funds were allocated for the indexation of pensions and bonuses.
"The normative act immediately addressed the need to support the most needy groups, such as persons with economic assistance and those with disabilities. In parallel, we have secured funds for pensions. We aimed to gradually increase financial support. For 2025, the budgetary support was 256 million euros for economic assistance including the bonus, while for pensioners 120 million euros who benefited from the bonus and indexation. We aim to transfer all 2025 budget funds that have not been used by institutions to the pensioners' account at the Bank of Albania."
The Minister emphasized that the fund that will be transferred to the pensioners' account at the Bank of Albania is estimated at 150 million euros.
"The minimum amount that will be transferred to the pensioners' account at the Bank of Albania is around 150 million euros. Through this amount, we aim to provide sustainable support for this category. We have an additional fund of 2 billion lek for farmers for support measures in agriculture for 2025 and the total fund goes to 6.4 billion lek. The realization of the fund for support schemes is 90 percent for oil compensation and 93 percent for other measures. Payments are ongoing."
Regarding capital investments, the Minister emphasized that through the normative act, 10 billion lek have been reallocated in order to support projects that have had better performance and 1.2 billion lek for the repayment of arrears of municipalities.
