"Wind farm in Tropoja, one of the largest in Europe"/ Balluku: American investment. In 10 years, 1000 km of roads, 30 km of tunnels and more than 21 km of bridges
One of the largest wind farms in Europe is planned to be built in Tropoja. Speaking at the Ambassadors' Conference, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, said that the project is advanced, as it is currently in the phase of obtaining the relevant authorizations.
" Our country has based its energy production solely on hydropower. In these 6 years, we have managed to increase 30% of the country's production capacity, based on a new energy source, such as the sun. In the coming months, we are preparing for one of the largest wind energy production projects in Europe, for the wind farm located in the Tropoja area, which has initiated all authorization procedures, financed by one of the largest American companies and which will add another green component to our energy crown ," said Balluku.
The Minister also spoke about infrastructure investments in roads, railways and ports, which according to her are projects that will impact not only Albania, but also beyond.
" Major projects will not only contribute to the Albanian economy, but also to the regional economy, contributing to the connectivity of the Western Balkans. We have invested heavily in recent years in road infrastructure, as one of the primary and preferred infrastructures by Albanian citizens, but also by foreign visitors. In these 10 years, we have built over 1,000 km of roads, over 30 km of tunnels and more than 21 km of bridges, to connect the north with the south, the east with the west, to connect Albania with other countries and to shorten travel time to the maximum ," she said.
According to Balluku, the ambassadors today have the opportunity to promote the Albania of green energy, interconnectivity and cuisine.
