Organization of the 2025 Elections, the Government provides an additional 2.5 billion lek
With a special decision, the Government has approved an additional fund of 2.5 billion lek for the organization of this year's political elections.
According to the details provided in the VKM, 2.46 billion lek go to the item "Current Expenditures", while
Forty million lek are foreseen for the item "Capital Expenditures".

AN ADDITIONAL FUNDING IN THE 2025 BUDGET, APPROVED FOR THE CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION, FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS ON MAY 11, 2025
In accordance with Article 100 of the Constitution and Articles 5 and 45 of Law No. 9936, dated 26.6.2008, “On the Management of the Budget System in the Republic of Albania”, as amended, and point 3 of Article 14 of Law No. 115/2024, “On the 2025 Budget”, upon the proposal of the Minister of Finance, the Council of Ministers
DECIDED:
1. The Central Election Commission, in the approved budget for 2025, is allocated a fund of 2,500,000,000 (two billion five hundred million) lek, for the organization of the Assembly elections on May 11, 2025, which is detailed as follows:
– 2,460,000,000 (two billion four hundred and sixty million) lekë, in the item “Current Expenditures”, in the budget program 01620 “General and Local Elections”;
– 40,000,000 (forty million) lekë, under the item “Capital Expenditures”, in budget program 01620 “General and Local Elections”.
2. The financial effect, determined in point 1 of this decision, is borne by the fund for the general elections, approved for 2025.
3. The Ministry of Finance and the Central Election Commission are responsible for the implementation of this decision.
This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the "Official Gazette".
