Employment periods before 1994 are automatically recognized/ Gonxha: Around 30 thousand citizens benefit!
Over 30,000 citizens will have their employment period before 1994 recognized, without the need to open legal proceedings due to damage to documentation. According to information published on social media, they only need to submit one document, which will prove where they were resident for the period they are seeking recognition.
Parliament approved in the last plenary session the law "On the recognition of periods of employment in state institutions, former state enterprises, former agricultural enterprises and former agricultural cooperatives", an initiative of MEKI and ISSH, which, with the support of the government, brings a long-awaited and final solution for thousands of citizens.
"Due to the lack of old documentation, they have faced great difficulties in recognizing years of work for pension purposes," said the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja.
According to him, this law eliminates the bureaucracy and expenses that thousands of citizens have been forced to bear to prove seniority at work, automatically recognizes periods of employment before 1994, avoiding lengthy court processes.
"For many years, an inherited problem has weighed on citizens who, due to mismanagement of state documents, have not been able to prove their years of work and have received lower pensions than they were entitled to. Thousands of them have been forced to follow long legal paths to gain their rights, while many others have not had the opportunity to claim what they are entitled to," the minister said.
He also added that with this law, the minister continued, the chapter of bureaucratic ordeals with over 3,000 court processes per year, and injustice is finally closed.
“This is another step in our ongoing effort to guarantee a fairer and more sustainable pension system, giving our citizens of retirement age the dignity they deserve,” said Gonxha.
