Diaspora vote/CEC: Over 134 thousand registrations. Around 47 thousand requests rejected!
Albanian voters living abroad, for the first time this year, have the opportunity to participate through voting in the parliamentary elections on May 11.
The process for registering on the Electronic Voter Platform (PER) began on January 11 and will last until March 4, 2025.
According to official figures from the Central Election Commission, the number of registered overseas voters has reached 134,279, while as of today at 10:09, 81,109 requests have been approved, while in terms of rejections, the number registered so far is 46,989 requests.
Based on information published by the CEC by gender, the highest percentage of registrants are men with 80,393 (59.9%) requests, while women are 53,877 (40.1%).
Regarding registration requests by age group, the highest number of requests is from the 26-35 age group with 37,360 requests, followed by the 36-45 age group with 36,344 requests, from the 46-55 age group 25,642 were registered, and from those over 56 there were 20,983 requests for registration. The youngest, the 18-25 age group, have the lowest number of requests, with 13,941 such requests.
The registration requests come from various countries around the world. The highest number of requests was registered by Italy with 50,398, followed by Greece with 36,353, Germany with 16,029, and the USA with 9,874.
Regarding requests by region, the highest number of applications is for Tirana with 26,630, followed by Fier with 18,892, Korça with 14,139, Durrës with 13,937, etc.
