Drafting of the Strategy for Intelligent Navies begins/ Balluku: It will turn Albania into a Mediterranean hub
For several months, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has been working on the drafting of a National Strategy for Smart and Sustainable Marines. While participating in the 5th International Conference on Sustainable and Smart Marines, Minister Belinda Balluku announced the steps currently being taken in this direction.
"Today I was accompanied by Luca Dini's team and the renowned Italian architect, who has been working with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy for several months to design this national strategy, the Intelligent and Sustainable Marine Strategy. All this work will turn Albania into a Mediterranean hub of an industry as part of tourism. Tourism, which has already become one of the most important sectors of our economy, but which, on the other hand, must have as much innovation as possible to produce sustainability for the coming decades ," said Balluku.
Meanwhile, Dini shared details on the vision of what navies will be like in the future, which is being used to draft the strategy for our country.
"The approach should be completely opposite to what it has been so far. The investor should embrace the project and the vision, not the other way around. Often the investor thinks of imposing figures, square meters, but that is not the case. In this country, our suggestion is precisely that of focusing initially on the guiding lines: where we want to go, what we want to do. This also comes from our experience in yachting, we know exactly what ship owners are looking for. They are looking for experiences, they are no longer looking for a place to show off their wealth, they want to experience an experience and a cultural experience ," said Dini.
This is the first time that Albania participates in the International Conference on Sustainable Marines.
