Government objectives for youth employment/ Muça: Incentives are needed

The Albanian government aims to create a more dynamic and inclusive labor market in the next four years, by drafting employment policies, salary increases, etc.

Asked by SCAN TV how achievable the objectives are, employment expert Erion Muça said that if the right policies are followed, we can have a more consolidated labor market for everyone, but especially for young people, who sometimes consider emigration as the only solution.

The minimum wage of 500 euros by 2026 is another government objective, which helps not only underpaid professions, but also young people newly entering the labor market.

However, the expert emphasizes that the private sector should move in line with state initiatives, especially on the average wage, which the state cannot interfere with. By 2030, the government aims to reduce youth unemployment to 15%.
