Albania, with slight growth in new businesses - Second Quarter/ Registrations

Eurostat has published some data regarding the general situation of new business registrations, for the second quarter of 2025. According to these statistics, it turns out that for this period in the EU there was a significant increase, reaching 4.6%, compared to the same period a year earlier. The increase is also noticeable if we compare it with the first quarter of the year, where there was a significant decrease in new business registrations by 5.5%.

However, how does our country fare in this regard? According to the "Scan Intel" analysis, during the second quarter of 2025 there will be 1.4% more business registrations compared to last year, but comparing it to the first quarter of the year we can say that the growth has slowed down.

But how do the countries in the region fare? According to statistics, Montenegro is the one that shows the biggest decrease, with 9.4% fewer business registrations in the second quarter of the year. On the other hand, North Macedonia is the country that has experienced the biggest growth in the region, with 22.2% new registrations.

At the continental level, the country that results in the largest decrease is Denmark, with 18.2% fewer registered businesses. Other countries such as Norway and Cyprus also show a significant decrease.
Meanwhile, the countries that have experienced the largest increase in new registrations are: the Netherlands, Romania and Spain.
