Drafting of rules for the circulation of skateboards begins - Koçiu: From technical standards to permitted areas!

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu, convened today in a roundtable discussion all the main institutions that play a key role in road safety to draft the legal framework.
Koçiu noted in a post on social media that the suspension of movement on electric skateboards came as a necessary measure to guarantee the safety of citizens, until a clear legal framework is created that regulates their use.
The focus of the roundtable was the drafting of new rules that will determine the technical standards of vehicles, traffic rules and permitted areas, as well as the responsibilities of the institutions that will ensure the implementation of the law.
According to the minister, the goal is to regulate the movement of electric skateboards in a safe, organized manner and in line with the city's modern urban life.
The Ministry of Interior and the State Police announced a temporary ban on the circulation of electric skateboards throughout the country, following increasing concerns for public safety. The decision was made after a detailed analysis by the State Police, which identified a significant increase in accidents involving these vehicles, mainly in urban areas.
