4 tons of expired pesticides blocked - AKU inspections in Tirana, Durrës and Lezha

Nearly 4 tons of plant protection products have been blocked by the National Food Authority, which has conducted several inspections in several businesses in the districts of Tirana, Durrës and Lezha with the aim of identifying various entities that trade such products in violation of the law.
Referring to the official announcement of this institution, the inspection bodies of the National Food Authority have carried out 7 inspections, of which 3 inspections were carried out in Tirana, which were closed without violation of legal requirements, 2 inspections in Durrës, where in one of them the quantity of 3000 kg of Plant Protection Products (PMP) was blocked, for non-compliance with the shelf life of the PPPs on the label. The other inspection was closed without violation of legal requirements.
In the Lezha district, 2 inspections were carried out, in one of them 977 kg were blocked for non-compliance with the shelf life of PPPs on the label, while in the other inspection an administrative measure of "warning" was imposed.
The NFA continues inspections throughout the country and assures consumers and food businesses that the institution continues to work in accordance with applicable legislation and to guarantee food safety.
Plant protection products, or pesticides, are substances used to protect plants from pests, diseases, and weeds.
