Agreement signed for solar park in Belsh/Balluku: Energy for 50 thousand citizens, less carbon in the environment
The loan and grant agreement for the financing of the Belsh photovoltaic park construction project has been signed. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, declared.
"Today we are here with Ambassador Gonzato to sign the agreement for the photovoltaic park in Belsh, which will supply energy to 50 thousand citizens of the Republic of Albania, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 50 thousand tons per year. On the other hand, this is a step to introduce new areas in the field of energy. This entire process, between the public and private sectors, has brought about significant financial and service improvements, which will increase through cooperation. The European Union has opened a call for green energy sources. We have created a tradition and a good name in the international market in terms of renewable energy auctions," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister Balluku also announced that the possibility of unused lands in the country's municipalities becoming part of auctions for the generation of green energy is being considered.
"This is a significant investment for Albania. This project will increase energy production capacities and is an example of exceptional teamwork. The European Union is happy to be helping Albania with grants for the country's transformation. Albania is getting ready to open the 'green card' chapter for regional integration in the field of clean energy. Albania is unique in producing 100% of its electricity from renewable sources," Gonzato said.
According to Ambassador Gonzato, the EU's main goal in Albania is to reduce carbon emissions and increase sustainable energy production.
