"Without production in the village, the city cannot survive"/ Rama: In

The Agricultural University of Tirana is now ready to offer the 9 programs of the BOKU University of Vienna, with the aim of becoming a leader in the region. At the event held in this context, Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech, stated that UBT will be the antenna of BOKU in the region by 2030.

"What has been achieved is something that personally convinces me that in 2030 UBT and BOKU will be one and UBT will be the antenna of BOKU in our region," said Rama.

Among other things, Prime Minister Rama emphasized that the importance of the Agricultural University will also be felt in the chapters of the negotiations for EU membership.

"With EU membership, the number of professionals coming from the fields covered by UBT is much greater than that of lawyers, we need professionals who know what we are talking about, how to remodel developments. Water shortages, conflicts over resources are turning into conflicts between states. There are over 2 billion people who face thirst. Agriculture consumes 70% of fresh water, so the world is talking about smart water management. Water policy to avoid crises and conflicts. These are topics that are part of the work agenda of Boku University and UBT. Food security, innovation and technology issues related to the village and development. Without the village, there is no city, without production in the village, the city cannot survive, so we need people who are knowledgeable about all the technology that has started to enter at a rapid pace, about satellites, drones, data research. We are on time, but we are at the end of the day," said the Prime Minister.
