Fire situation, 21 outbreaks in the last 24 hours/ Ministry of Defense: 9 outbreaks still active and 1 under monitoring
A total of 21 fire outbreaks have been reported in the last 24 hours, of which 9 remain active and 1 is under monitoring. The outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of: Dibër, Mat, Bulqizë, Mallakastër, Vlorë, Elbasan, Belsh, Kurbin, Devoll, Korçë, Maliq, Përmet, Shijak and Malësi e Madhe.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the current active hotbed remains the Lura National Park. Among the problematic areas where the fire continues in three hotbeds above the village of Gurë Lura, the Black Lake and Fuşa e Pelave. The intervention was carried out with ground forces and a Canadair aircraft from Italy.
Today, operational forces and 30 military forces of the Albanian Armed Forces have been engaged in extinguishing the fire. Meanwhile, the fire in the village of Ulëz, Mat municipality, continues to be active. In the village of Zall Gjoçaj, Mat municipality, work has continued to extinguish the fire in the place called "Përroi i Zi".
The fire is very intense in Sotiran, in the place called "Qafa e Shëngjergjit", above the village of Dukat, Vlora municipality.
Active fires also remain in Shmil, Elbasan, Zall Gjoçaj, Mat, on the Shkopet-Burrel road, as well as in several mountainous areas of Korça, Devolli and Përmet. Meanwhile, a fire in Strikçan, Bulqiza, has been placed under monitoring by the local fire service.
684 operational forces, 51 firefighting vehicles, 185 army forces with 19 vehicles and 2 helicopters have been engaged in firefighting operations.
Civil protection structures continue to be engaged in managing and extinguishing fires throughout the territory.
