In April, around 905 thousand passengers at Rinas - 180 flights were carried out per day to 19 different countries
With an average of 180 flights per day, Tirana International Airport registered nearly 905(Printscreen) thousand passengers during the past month. According to data published by TIA, the most frequented destinations were Italian cities such as Rome, Bologna, Venice, Milan, as well as London in the United Kingdom. In total, over 5 thousand flights were carried out to 19 different countries.
This significant growth is also supported by data from the Institute of Statistics, where over 2 million passengers were registered in the first four months of 2024 alone. The growth has also been influenced by the expansion of the airline map, including the entry of the company "Iberia", which now connects Tirana with Madrid three times a week.
According to INSTAT, 13,000 flights were registered in the first quarter of 2024, marking an increase of 59% compared to the same period a year earlier. The number of passengers also increased by almost 64%, reaching 1.9 million.
An increase was also recorded in air freight transport. Their volume reached nearly 500 tons, an increase of 11.1% compared to the same period last year. The majority of this volume consists of goods entering Albanian territory.
