"In 4 years, 49 million services from e-Albania" - Rama: We are working on a European electronic ID
More than 95% of public services are online, accessible from any device and from any location, while the e-albania platform has become the gateway to state services.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech at the event "Strengthening Artificial Intelligence in Digital Public Services in Albania" for the modernization of public administration, stated that there are 3.3 million users who use the platform and that 49 million services have been provided since 2020.
620 million euros saved for citizens and businesses just from this transformation, just from the elimination of queues, just from saving time. 1 billion kilometers of roads, 1 billion kilometers of people traveling back and forth to get documents or, as I like to call it, the auditors have given us as an example, 25 thousand laps around the world. Those who live abroad have saved 57 million euros from the fact that they can receive services through the platform and, more importantly, those who live abroad can receive the same services as those who live inside without having to wait until the day they come to Albania to go in line.
In his speech, the Prime Minister mentioned the introduction of artificial intelligence in negotiations with the European Union, in public procurement, the tax and customs revenue sector, control over territory, and also spoke about further developments.
We will finally reach the moment when traffic violations, speeding violations will be detected in real time and in real time your photo will come smiling as you are driving faster than necessary due to the increased adrenaline with an advice to reduce your speed and with information on where you should appear and when to pay the fine, with the photo. We are working on the electronic identity card, which is actually all according to the standards and parameters set by the EU for the electronic ID that the EU will put into operation, it does not exist yet but the parameters are known. We have received the parameters and are working on the European electronic ID, which will initially serve as an identity card here in Albania.
After mentioning the attacks from Iran, Prime Minister Rama stated that Albania now has one of the most advanced cyber defense powers in Europe.
