Inspections at beer and wine factories - 7 entities penalized, fines imposed on violators
Importers and domestic factories that produce beer, wine or alcoholic beverages have been under constant monitoring over the past year.
Based on its functional tasks, the alcoholic beverages sector at the General Directorate of Customs has carried out controls both in markets and at economic operators operating with excise products.
Given the priorities and risks, this sector is focused on controlling operators with the greatest contribution to revenue, mainly importers and producers of excise products "beer", "alcoholic beverages" and "wine".
Based on the risk analysis, economic operators with increased risk were identified, and controls were carried out on these economic operators.
According to data from the General Directorate of Customs, for the period January - December 2024, 90 controls were carried out, of which 42 are importers of wine, beer and alcoholic beverages, while 48 are domestic producers of wine, brandy, alcoholic beverages and beer.
From the controls carried out, obligations and penalties were identified in 7 cases with missing obligations in the amount of 1.2 million lek and penalties in the amount of 3.7 million lek.
