The state budget changes for the first time - an additional 10 million euros for

The government has changed the state budget for this year for the first time. Through a normative act published in the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation has been added a fund of 1 billion lek or 10 million euros in the form of a capital transfer to the Albanian Investment Corporation, as the sole shareholder of this institution, with the aim of the participation of the Albanian government, represented by the Albanian Investment Corporation, in the startup "Thinking Machines Lab".

Referring to the report accompanying this normative act, this financial effect on the budget will be covered by the same increase of 1 billion lek in non-tax revenues under the item "income from the alienation of confiscated assets".

The report argues that, referring to the letter from the Ministry of Economy, this startup is one of the most innovative projects globally in the field of artificial intelligence, with great potential for technological advancement and economic income for the country, offering strategic benefits for Albania as a whole, where in addition to the direct economic impact, this partnership will increase the country's position in the global technological community, demonstrating the country's commitment to supporting innovative technologies and advanced research. It is also argued that this will attract international investors and position Albania as a center for research and development of artificial intelligence (AI), a collaboration that will also serve as a global marketing opportunity for our country.

The normative act operates with the force of law for a period of time, a maximum of 45 days.

Meanwhile, it has also been submitted for approval to Parliament.
