Meloni and Mitsotakis commit to the accession of the Western Balkans to the EU!
"Italy and Greece share the path of the Western Balkans' accession to Europe as a common commitment that we will reiterate in the coming days at the European Political Community Summit planned in Tirana, " said Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in press statements following the Italy-Greece Intergovernmental meeting.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis have signed two important agreements in the fields of energy and rail transport.
On the energy front, Mitsotakis stressed the ambition to triple the electricity interconnection capacity between the two countries and said that Greece is an electricity exporting country.
During the meeting, they also spoke about the Western Balkans, emphasizing that they support the path towards EU membership, a commitment that they will reiterate during the two-day summit of the European political community to be held in Tirana.
