Illegal constructions/ Lamallari: Intensive field inspections, 67 administrative measures in 1 month

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, announced today that measures to prevent unauthorized construction in the territory have been intensified, with 67 administrative measures imposed in the last month alone.
During a press conference, Lamallari focused on the increased measures for territorial control, while emphasizing that the administrative measures imposed during this month amount to 122 million lek.
Lamallari also referred to the crackdown on a suspected case of illegality in Saranda, where police officers became parties to the crime by neglecting their duty and violating national interests.
"The protection of the territory is a national asset. Therefore, an in-depth investigation is needed into the institutional responsibility of everyone who had the duty to act and did not do so," said Lamallari.
In this regard, the minister informed that IKMT has intensified measures to prevent unauthorized construction and against environmental crimes through continuous field controls, monitoring of high-risk areas, and cooperation with other institutions.
According to him, "advanced technologies, including drones and cameras, are being used not only to prevent but also to identify all cases of violations."
"The fines also include referrals and criminal liability to show that protecting the territory is an absolute priority. Anyone who betrays the uniform will be held accountable before the law," said Lamallari.
