Albanian honey "threatened" by climate conditions - Malutaj: Farmers increase hives, production increases
Boosted by subsidies from the national agricultural scheme, the number of kosher farms in the country is increasing, but production remains at low levels.
The main influencing factor is climatic conditions, which are increasingly putting this sector at risk.
Unlike the poor performance of livestock farming, where according to data from the Institute of Statistics, the number of heads is falling year after year, farmers are increasingly embracing the implementation of kosher in the country.
According to INSTAT, the average honey yield per hive has fallen significantly in 2024, dropping to 10 kilograms per hive, from around 11 kg last year – the lowest level recorded in at least the last 15 years.
