The Ministry of Defense orders an urgent evacuation of residents in Nartë, Skënderbegës and Delvinë!
The Ministry of Defense issued an emergency evacuation order today for residents in Nartë, Skënderbegës (Gramsh) and Delvinë.
"Due to the rapid spread of fires in Nartë, Skënderbegës (Gramsh) and Delvinë, we call on residents to follow the instructions of emergency teams and evacuate immediately to safe areas," the MoD said in a statement.
During the last 24 hours, 64 fires have been identified, of which 24 fires are still active.
Over 10,000 emergency forces, under the coordination of the Civil Protection Agency, are on the ground and the situation is moving towards stabilization. The extensive firefighting operation has continued uninterrupted throughout the night, aiming to limit the perimeter of the flames near residential areas and national parks throughout the country. Three helicopters are also operating from the air in Gramsh and two others in Delvina.
