Closer to opening the last group of chapters with the EU - Dhuka: Review by

Within a few months, the final group of chapters with the European Union for membership negotiations is expected to be opened, which include chapters such as Agriculture, Fisheries and Cohesion. In the Committee on European Affairs, Minister of State and Chief Negotiator Majlinda Dhuka stated that these chapters are of particular importance for the country's economy and for the direction that the integration process will take.

"With the discussions we will hold today regarding the last group of chapters, Albania completes the technical preparations to open negotiations for all 33 chapters. It expresses the political assessment of the member states and the emphasis of the European Union on the enlargement part. With this group, Albania closes the part of the negotiations; of course, the review by the member states in the coming months and the gradual transition to the next phase of the closure of the negotiations is expected."

Minister Dhuka also praised the rapid steps Albania has taken in recent months to become part of the European Union.

"In the last 10 months, we have managed to hold 4 intergovernmental conferences with the European Union and open 24 chapters. The issues being discussed are of particular importance for farmers, fishermen, regions and the country's food security," said Dhuka.

Albania aims to open all negotiation chapters by 2025 and complete the accession process by the end of 2027, with the objective of becoming part of the EU by 2030.
