Grant support, 89 startups to win by 2025 - Rama: The program will be expanded,

During a presentation where 150 young Albanians presented their 175 start-ups with the aim of benefiting from government grants, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized the impact that technology development has had on our country.

“We have 89 winners of this program here and we know that it needs to be expanded even more. Just yesterday I saw an analytical audit on the impact of the e-Albania platform on the lives of citizens. According to the analysis, Albanians have been saved a total of 620 million euros – a very significant figure.
Also, 75 million lekë have been saved in paperwork, and the time gained for citizens translates into 25 million 'rotations around the Earth' – a metaphor for the great time that technology has brought.
This is a big step towards the digitalization of the country. The e-Albania platform has enabled an extraordinary transformation in public services, a progress that would not have been possible without technology. We are in the era of exponential progress and we are increasingly feeling its impact on everyday life.”

On the other hand, the Minister of State for Climate and Entrepreneurship, Delina Ibrahimaj, made public the figures of this year's beneficiaries from the Startup Grant 2025 call, emphasizing that applications from young people are increasing significantly.

“We have made 10.5 million euros available in four years, with the majority financed by the Albanian Government, while 2 million euros are grants from the European Union.
These funds have supported a large number of start-ups and have helped create a favorable ecosystem for work and innovation.
At the same time, the number of young people choosing to study in the field of information technology has also increased. Today we have businesses that contribute to sectors such as tourism, agriculture and healthcare.
I am very happy that we have supported so many initiatives. We currently have 175 active start-ups, of which 89 will benefit this year. Today we officially announce the winners and in the coming days we will hold meetings with them to closely follow their work.”

In closing, Prime Minister Rama emphasized that intensive work is being done to digitize public procurement through the use of artificial intelligence, hoping that the system will be functional by the end of 2026.
