EU support for youth employment/Youth Grant, 2252 beneficiaries in Tirana, Shkodra and Vlora

The Youth Guarantee is becoming a key instrument for reducing unemployment among the 15 to 29 age group. This program aims to include young people who are not in work, school, or training courses, and is currently being piloted in the three main regions of the country: Tirana, Shkodra, and Vlora.
" The Youth Guarantee is the Albanian government's most important youth employment program. It is a program that is strongly supported by the European Union and the goal of the program is to provide every young person, who is between the ages of 15 and 29 and is not in work, school or following a vocational training course, with a quality offer, whether for work, school or training, within four months of registration at the employment offices. Currently, the program is in the pilot phase, being piloted in three pilot regions: in Tirana, Shkodër and Vlora. The piloting is supported by the European Union in cooperation with UNDP and UNICEF in Albania" - said Jona Dundo, Project Manager of the "EU for Youth ".
But what are the figures for young people who have benefited from the Youth Guarantee?
" Currently, there are 2,252 young people who have benefited from the Youth Guarantee and the results, in fact, have been very positive. Over 1,700 of them have received an offer of a job, school or training within four months. So, the positive rate is around 86%. And given the success that has been achieved so far, but also the attention and support of the European Union, the Youth Guarantee will soon be extended to the national level to enable all young people to be supported to integrate into the labor market, " said Dundo.
The final goal remains the formalization of the labor market for young people and the increase of their professional skills in line with business requirements.
