"War" with locusts, the insect spreads to several areas/ Minister Salla: Situation under control, intensive monitoring in the districts
The structures of the National Veterinary and Plant Protection Agency are continuing to monitor the phytosanitary situation and control locust outbreaks in affected agricultural areas.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, together with experts in the field, announced that after the identification of the pest in the areas of Divjaka, Lushnja and Belsh, treatments with authorized preparations have been undertaken to protect agricultural crops and minimize damage. Salla said that AKVMB will continue intensive monitoring of the affected areas and cooperation with farmers, to guarantee rapid intervention and the most effective protection of agricultural production from damage caused by this insect.
Meanwhile, the director of the AKVMB, Rolan Çela, stated that through regional directorates, interventions have been carried out in the identified outbreaks, making it possible to keep the situation under control. According to him, the situation is currently stabilized.
