New water supply line in Radhimë and Akërni - Aimed at meeting high demand during the tourist season

The Vlora Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company has announced the opening of two tenders, for the improvement of the water supply system in the Radhima area and the water supply line in the village of Akërni, which are tourist attraction areas. The estimated limit fund for both tenders is around 8 million and 228 thousand lekë.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the overall purpose of the investment consists of the construction of a new water supply line for the urban area that extends on both sides of the road. The project starts from station line no. 6 to the Kastrati - Jonufër fuel station, which is currently supplied through an existing pipeline built in 2015.
Considering that the Radhima area is an area of particular importance for tourism, as well as the development it has undergone in recent years with important facilities that will continue to grow in the coming years, it has had consequences for the water supply, causing a drop in pressure and insufficient supply for its downstream areas. For these reasons, it has been deemed necessary to build a new line parallel to the old line, which will avoid water supply problems, especially in the tourist season when there is a high demand for water supply. The length of the new line will be about 1 km.
On the other hand, the construction of a new water supply line is also planned in the Akërnia area, where it has been determined that the existing water supply network of this residential center is insufficient to meet the needs of the residents.
The document emphasizes that, due to airport works and the deadline for putting it into operation in June, this pipeline has been out of operation as it lies within the territory of Vlora Airport, which is why urgent measures must be taken to supply these subscribers.
Likewise, all works are expected to be carried out in accordance with the technical conditions of design and implementation.
