Law on the Status of the Military/Vengu: NATO-level salaries within the next 4 years!
During the meeting that took place today in Tirana, for public consultation, with representatives from former military associations, on the Law on the Status of the Military, Vengu highly valued the inclusion of all actors in this sector, in the process of legal changes on the status of the military, which, as he said, "focuses on strengthening the Armed Forces, its modernization and increasing investments in human capital."
He also added that "in the next 4 years we aim to reach the average NATO salary for the Armed Forces."
"We aim to create instruments that make young people increase their interest in the Armed Forces. Through legal changes, we aim to provide financial support for military personnel during their duty, financial and social support for military personnel's families, and support for military personnel after the end of their career ," the minister emphasized.
"Increasing capacities, modernizing forces, the military industry - all these processes cannot be successfully realized and materialized if we do not invest in human capital as a main pillar that the government focuses on," he said.
"Compared to 10 years ago, we have increased recruitment fivefold. At the FA Academy we have 1,100 applications for 100 recruits. Salaries have also increased significantly. We had the lowest salaries in the Region, now we have the highest salaries in the Region and the goal is to increase salaries according to NATO standards ," said Vengu.
