Financing from the Growth Plan, Edi Rama: We met the EU conditions. "A clear sign that we are moving rapidly towards membership"
The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, held a live conversation with citizens on social networks. In his speech, the Head of Government said that the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, has declared that she congratulates Albania for the speed in receiving funding from the New Growth Plan.
"We have very positive news. Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, has stated that she congratulates Albania and North Macedonia for the speed in receiving funding from the new growth plan. The speed in the funding plan means fulfilling the tasks, according to the agreed calendar and program for the country's further progress on the path to membership, and it is about 64.5 million euros coming directly from the EU to Albania, 30 million euros are for the state budget as support for reforms, and 34 million euros pass through the Balkan Investment Fund for infrastructure. So I believe that this is another clear sign of the fact that we are moving quickly according to the pace set for EU membership."
On the other hand, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that the moment Albania joins the EU, we will receive a fund of 1 billion euros per year.
"In today's time, we need the EU, but the EU also needs us, Albania and the Region, to create a compactness and a security perimeter, which we have an extraordinary benefit from. The moment we join, we will benefit from 1 billion euros in funds per year. In 10 years, we have received something more than 1 billion, what we have received in 10 years, we will receive year by year with the entry into the EU."
