Vlora Airport, a boost for tourism - Experts: Brings competition and lower ticket prices
Investments in infrastructure are very important for the development of tourism in our country, but also for attracting high-spending tourists.
Vlora Airport will begin operations this year and will be the gateway to visiting southern Albania.
Invited to the Scan Television studio, expert and tourist operator Migena Kamberi stated that Albania is one of the most preferred destinations for foreigners and the opening of the Vlora airport will give it another boost.
Meanwhile, Salina Agalliu, a tour operator, stated that, among other things, Vlora airport will cause ticket prices to decrease even further, due to competition.
During a meeting with tourist operators in the city of Vlora, the prime minister said that the runway will be completed in May, while work is also underway on the terminals.
During 2024, the number of foreign citizens who entered the territory of the Republic of Albania was around 11.7 million, while this year this number is expected to be higher and a good portion will pass through Vlora airport.
