Prime Minister Rama leaves duties to ambassadors - "Registration of Albanians abroad, a national objective"

Albania has hundreds of thousands of citizens outside its borders, but it doesn't know exactly who they are, what they do, and how they can contribute.
During the ambassadors' conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama tasked our diplomatic missions with the complete register of Albanians around the world.
"We are a small country and we are a small people who do not have the luxury of not even knowing about our human resources abroad. We do not have the luxury of not even knowing about the educated Albanians, about the extraordinary professionals that we have in almost all countries of the world and at least the knowledge about them, about their existence, about their presence in one country or another, must be guaranteed to us by the diplomatic service. And then, of course, with this knowledge, much else can be imagined and can be built, but so that we do not have a database that is enriched day by day with Albanian professionals in territories all over the world and where many Albanians excel and succeed and have no material needs towards Albania, we would certainly welcome an interest from Albania and would certainly welcome to a large extent an invitation from Albania to contribute in the meantime when the world has become so interconnected that there is no longer any need to move from where you are to be able to make a contribution. It is unacceptable that we are so ignorant about the extraordinary human capital we have abroad and this should be a priority objective for all our diplomatic missions.”
Prime Minister Rama emphasized that the establishment of the Diplomatic Academy according to the best European models is a very necessary and indispensable step.
The reform of the entire normative framework of the foreign service to increase professionalism, guarantee the ongoing education of the entire corps and the systematic improvement of human resources also remains a priority.
