Government Complex gets the green light - Decision, 2,431 square meters pass into the ownership of the Investment Corporation

The government has decided to transfer to the Albanian Investment Corporation an area of 2,431 square meters in the New Boulevard area, for the implementation of the investment project "Government Complex, New Boulevard, Tirana".
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, the area transferred to the Albanian Investment Corporation will be used for the development of the government complex, the creation of functional facilities for public institutions and for the needs of the Albanian Railway, including the development of the new railway station.
The Albanian Investment Corporation is authorized to act as the developer of the project, either by itself or through an entity created by it. It will also have the right to negotiate with public and private entities for the conclusion of contracts related to the development of the property.
The decision gives the Albanian Investment Corporation the authority, when necessary for the implementation of the project and in accordance with the legislation, to proceed with the demolition of buildings located in the transferred property. The Corporation may also carry out the property consolidation process in case a discrepancy is found between the factual and legal status of the property. The Corporation and the beneficiary institutions must conclude a cooperation agreement within 30 days from the entry into force of the decision.
The agreements will define the standards, methodology, terms and conditions of cooperation, as well as the manner of administering new properties that may be created as a result of the project's development.
Regarding financing, the decision stipulates that the costs for design, construction and commissioning will be covered by sub-projects of the "Copëzat" investment project and other projects of the Albanian Investment Corporation.
