Property compensation, the deadline is postponed - Draft/ Until 2028, payments for final decisions are completed
The government changes the deadlines for all citizens who benefit from the property compensation law.
With reference to the draft law approved by the government, the process of reviewing the files, which were applied before the entry into force of the law no. with 3 years and is expected to end by December 31, 2027, while the deadline was December 31, 2024.
Also, the end of 2027 is the new deadline, according to the draft, where the ATP evaluates only financially, all the final unassessed decisions that have recognized the right to compensation, thus being postponed by three years.
The legal changes determine that the payment process for all final decisions that have recognized the right to compensation will be completed by December 31, 2028.
The draft states that the state budget approves each budget year a financial fund, no less than 50 billion lek until 2028, which will be administered by the Property Treatment Agency for the implementation of the property compensation process.
The government anticipates postponing the review of over 7,000 files that are still without a decision by the Property Handling Agency as compensation for over 25,000 decisions archived for years in the institution.
Together with the extension of the deadline for the execution of over 25 thousand decisions, the Government has also made a redistribution of the unallocated fund. The 10th year has not yet been allocated, so the value due to this year has been revised by distributing it over 4 years, but without adding the cost to the state budget. So, the compensation fund remains 50 billion ALL, but only the distribution of the remaining unallocated value has been revised.
