Ibrahimaj: Transparency Board, until prices return to pre-crisis levels

Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated during a press conference that the Transparency Board will remain in place until prices return to pre-crisis levels, as a result of the change in the stock market. She added that the price of electricity will not change, while a significant increase has not yet been seen in the basket of products.
"We will keep the Board up until prices stabilize at pre-crisis levels. This is a guarantee that, unlike what generally happens at times when prices increase, we will ensure that fuel prices return, of course if the stock markets return to pre-crisis levels because we are a fuel importing country."
Regarding interventions in support of the needy, fuels in the consumer basket have a weight of 2% and this concerns the average Albanian family, and not those in the needy or pensioners. We have judged that for pensioners and the needy the most sensitive price is electricity and the basic food basket. If there is a need for intervention, as we have done before, we did not change the price of energy and intervened in several support packages for the needy categories. We are monitoring prices, fortunately there has not yet been a significant impact on these markets, but we will continue to follow them", said Minister Ibrahimaj.
