The way is opened for the establishment of the Development Bank - The draft law is approved in the Assembly. Ibrahimaj: It helps in the absorption of EU funds
The draft law that will pave the way for the establishment of the Albanian Development Bank has been approved in the Assembly. During the plenary session, the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated that the financing of the Albanian Development Bank will also go towards infrastructure, exports, or strategic projects for the economy.
"The main goal of this bank is to promote the country's economic development by facilitating access to finance for underfinanced sectors by supporting infrastructure development, exports and strategic projects for the economy. The capital structure is designed to ensure long-term sustainability. The state will own a minimum of 51% of the shares while maintaining public control, while international and domestic financial institutions can contribute to the capital. The bank will provide financing through financing through partnerships such as the European Development Bank or member countries."
Ibrahimaj emphasized, among other things, that the Development Bank will also assist in the absorption of European Union funds.
"The creation of such an institution could help in the effective absorption and distribution of EU funds, ensuring that investments are directed to long-term growth projects. Today we are facing a historic moment in EU membership and there will be funds available and there must be institutions that have the capacity to absorb these funds."
The Albanian Development Bank will be established to support Albanian enterprises that do not have sufficient access to financing from the traditional market and which often face difficulties in securing loans or investments for expansion and innovation. It will also offer savings products to citizens.
