205 million lek for coastal cleaning - Tender opens on the eve of the tourist season for cleaner beaches
With the approaching summer tourist season, the Centralized Purchasing Operator has announced the opening of the tender for the coastal zone cleaning service for the municipalities of Vlora, Himara and Saranda. The total estimated limit fund is two hundred and five million four hundred and sixty-one thousand four hundred lek.
According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the service operator is obliged to collect and transport waste from its collection points to its final disposal point. This service will be carried out no less than 2 times for each area, within the time slot 18.00-06.00.
The work process must be organized in such a way that all work is carried out during the night, starting no earlier than 6:00 PM, so that the contracted area is completely clean by 6:00 AM.
The document also states that the contracting authority has the right to inspect waste collection sites at any time and at the end to verify the performance of services, compliance with the required standards, rules and quality, and to impose prohibitions, penalties and fines for their non-compliance.
The service operator is responsible for collecting and transporting urban waste that is deposited in public areas within the contracted area, even if it is disposed of far from the approved collection points.
Meanwhile, the year 2024 was a prosperous year in terms of tourism in Albania, with a record number of tourists visiting our country.
According to official figures released by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Albania was visited by 11.7 million foreign visitors during 2024, an increase of 15.2% compared to 2023.
