Hita: Unacceptable situation in Saranda, reflection on restoring citizens' trust in the police

The General Director of the State Police, Director Madhor Skënder Hita, held a meeting with the structures of the Saranda Police Commissariat, with a focus on security, law enforcement and increasing the response force of local Police structures.
During the meeting, the General Director requested that the structures of the Saranda Police Commissariat and the Vlora Local Police Directorate immediately reflect to change the situation and citizens' perception of the work of the Police.
"The situation in Saranda is unacceptable and this is the direct responsibility of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, so reflection, responsibility and restoring citizens' trust in the Police are required. Anyone who maintains ties to or favors criminal groups and elements with high social risk will be expelled from the Police and justice will be taken against them," said Hita.
"Police structures must react forcefully against criminal groups, illegal possession of weapons, the capture of wanted citizens, drug trafficking and any criminal activity that violates public order and security. Unauthorized construction will not be allowed in any way. Cooperate and coordinate actions with other structures responsible for the protection of the territory," he continued.
Hita also focused on school safety, considering it a priority over priorities, until the last day of the school year. He called for maximum commitment to the safety of the lives and health of students, providing information to Criminal Police agents, and cracking down on those who attempt to harm the future of the country.
"The Traffic Police and general patrols must exercise full control over violations that create chaos in traffic, incorrect parking, modified vehicles and any illegality on the road. The "Eagle" Special Force must increase its presence and response in the field, to strike at criminal elements and increase security in the city," said Hita, adding that the Border Police must be more active in preventing and striking at cross-border crimes, controlling the green border and monitoring vessels.
"Any threat or pressure against police officers must be reported immediately and will be faced with the force of the law, ensuring my full support," said Hita.
On the eve of the tourist season, the Director General requested maximum commitment from all police structures to guarantee order, security and the provision of a professional service to citizens and domestic and foreign tourists.
In conclusion, he emphasized that the Saranda Police must return to the standards that citizens deserve, through professionalism, timely response, and impartial enforcement of the law.
