Energy supply in Durrës, Karakaçi: OST and OSSH are on full alert on the ground
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announces that the structures of the OST and OSSH are fully prepared to restore power to the entire affected area in Durrës as soon as possible. According to an announcement that Minister Enea Karakaçi posted on social networks, the situation caused by the fire in a private warehouse remains difficult, as the supply through the rings in most of the areas that remained without power cannot continue for a long time due to the high load on the network.
In his post, Minister Karakaçi writes:
The situation created by the fire that broke out in a private building (warehouse) near the 110 kV network in Shkozet continues to be serious. The fire service is continuing to work to completely extinguish the fire, while one of the 110 kV lines is being disconnected as a safety measure, at the request of the firefighters.
At 15:40, as a result of the fire, the 110 kV lines supplying the Shkozet substation were disconnected, causing a power outage in the city of Durrës.
OST jsc brigades are on site and will intervene to repair the defect and damage caused to the 110 kV line immediately after the fire is completely extinguished.
#OSSH has taken immediate measures to supply some areas through alternative lines (ring). Power supply has been partially restored in Durrës and work is underway to fully normalize the situation.
However, the situation remains difficult, as supply through the rings cannot continue for a long time due to the high load on the network.
The re-commissioning of the 110 kV lines will take place once the fire has been completely extinguished and the necessary conditions are created for the safe intervention of the teams in the field.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy requests citizens' understanding of the situation and ensures that the OST and OSSH structures are fully prepared to restore power to the entire affected area as soon as possible.
