Director of AMF: Markets under surveillance with growth in 2024, next year we aim for advancement with digitalization
The General Executive Director of the Financial Supervision Authority (AMF), Mrs. Mimoza Kaçi held the closing meeting of the year with representatives of print media, audiovisual media, analysts and well-known journalists. In her speech, Mrs. Kaçi thanked the media representatives for their role and contribution in the professional reflection of the activity of the AMF and the markets under supervision during 2024.
Making a brief summary of the developments during the year that is closing, the General Executive Director of the AMF emphasized that the year 2024 has been positive for the country's economy in general and for the financial sector, as well as the markets under the supervision of the Authority.
The year 2024 was a very intense year for the Authority, especially in terms of the process of legislative alignment with the EU acquis. The AMF completed the entire by-law framework implementing the new law on private pension funds and also drafted legal amendments to the insurance and reinsurance law, which are in the process of approval.
The authority drafted and approved the Regulation of Risk Factors, which begins implementation from January 1, 2025, which provides for the application of differentiated premium based on the risks that each insured carries.
Focusing on the performance of the markets under supervision, Mrs. Kaçi emphasized that all markets have seen growth, as well as further improvement of financial indicators.
Through close cooperation with the media, the Authority has been able to communicate with the public the decisions taken, announce regulatory changes and new developments in the direction of strengthening the supervision of the insurance market, investment funds and voluntary private pensions, as well as the market of capital. "Every news, every analysis, article or television chronicle that you have made has contributed to the information and awareness of the public, as well as to the increase of transparency for the financial system", - said Mrs. Kaçi in her speech.
The General Executive Director also presented some of the institution's objectives for the coming year, emphasizing the importance of new projects aimed at further deepening regulatory reforms, digitalization of services, as well as increasing consumer and investor protection in the markets under supervision.
