The American Chamber of Commerce publishes the 2024-2025 Business Index
The American Chamber of Commerce has released its Business Index, providing its members' perceptions of key business climate indicators for 2024. The index presents a slight decrease in the rating, 46.47 compared to 47.57 a year ago, again producing an Index that is below average.
During the 12 years of the AmCham's organization of this business climate questionnaire, the members' assessment has always been below the 50 percent level, demonstrating a continuing concern about several fundamental climate parameters.
Indicators such as finding qualified local staff, monopoly and unfair competition, the informal economy, government bureaucracy, and the overall level of taxes continue to have a low rating from members.
"These indicators clearly reflect issues on which the American Chamber, through its Committees, has worked with all state, governmental and parliamentary structures to bring about changes that not only help its member businesses but above all create a positive perception of the way business is done in Albania, increasing the interest of foreign investors," the Chamber's announcement states.
