National Regulation on Public Space - Rama: Communities and small entrepreneurs

Albania will have a national regulation of public space, with the aim of its controlled development. The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama on social networks. According to him, the draft regulation will soon be consulted with communities and small entrepreneurs.

During the month of June, the release of public spaces occupied abusively, mainly by businesses, but also entrepreneurs, has begun throughout the country. This action is seen as a necessary step for increasing the service, functionality of every business and enterprise in accordance with national standards of hospitality and service, not only in tourist areas.

Meanwhile, this action has also been extended to national roads. Today is the deadline for all commercial entities located near national axes to move themselves from the space they have occupied and which has become a risk to road safety. After this deadline, penalties are foreseen for all entities that have refused to implement this decision.

A day ago, during an inspection on the Kamëz-Laç road axis, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, once again reiterated the call to businesses to cooperate in this initiative.

Balluku warned that there will be zero tolerance for any entity, emphasizing that road safety remains a continuing priority.

"We informed a week ago, we called on all businesses and entities located in the areas of national axes to take measures and free up space, given that they have been violated in many cases, especially in the case of vehicle cemeteries, where vehicles are stored that are traded for spare parts or for other reasons that according to a 2011 normative act must be located 1 kilometer away from the national road," declared Balluku.

Also, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku invited citizens to report any cases where violations of public spaces are identified.
