Which sectors are producing and selling the most? - INSTAT: Construction and public services the most active, industry in difficulty

While some manufacturing sectors are expanding activity and hiring more, others are producing less and slowing down.
According to data from INSTAT, the industry, which includes extractive and processing industries, has entered a phase of decline. Sales and production have fallen significantly, while the number of employees has also decreased. In simple terms, factories have produced and sold less, and this has led to fewer jobs. However, those still employed have received higher salaries, as the wage bill has increased.
In the electricity sector, production was also lower compared to a year ago. Volume production fell by 16.4%. This is mainly due to factors such as water conditions and weaker demand. Here too, employment remained stable, while wages increased slightly.
On the other hand, public services, such as water supply and waste management, have seen growth. Net sales increased by 10.1%, production by 8.9%. This means more investment, more activity and more employees, especially in services that citizens touch every day.
Construction continues to be the most active sector in the economy. More buildings have been built, more construction sites have been opened, and more people have been employed. The strong increase in wages in construction shows that the demand for workers is high and companies are paying more to secure a workforce.
The Albanian economy in the third quarter of 2025 is being sustained by construction and public services, while industry and energy are facing difficulties. For citizens, this translates into more construction jobs, but less security in the industrial sector, even as wages, in general, continue to rise.
