CAP is automatically included in the driving license/ Rama: Simplification of procedures, reduction of expenses for citizens!
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that the Certificate of Vocational Training (CAP) will be automatically integrated into the driving license, being reflected in Code 95, and this innovation avoids the need for a separate CAP card, simplifying procedures and reducing costs for citizens.
"Another step towards modernizing and simplifying services. CAP is now part of the driving license as Code 95," he said.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR) announced that from August 19, 2025, the application of this important innovation has come into force for all drivers who possess CAP.
"In line with the best European standards, the CAP will no longer be issued as a separate card, but will be automatically included in the driving license, being reflected as Code 95 in the same document," the announcement states.
Specifically, citizens will no longer be provided with a separate CAP card, as all data will be reflected in the driving license. Application and renewal will be carried out according to existing procedures, while the Code 95 entry will be reflected in the single driving license document.
This change saves time and money for citizens, avoiding repeated applications, additional payments and unnecessary trips. With a simplified procedure, drivers will now have only one unified document, making use more practical and safer.
Also, this innovation complies with European Union standards, where Code 95 is reflected in the driving license, as applied in some EU countries.
Benefits are brought both to new applicants, who will no longer pay for the CAP card, and to managers renewing, who will have everything summarized in a single document. Institutions also benefit from simpler and digitalized administration.
With this step, DPSHTRR emphasizes its commitment to providing faster, easier, cheaper services in line with European standards for every citizen.
