"Within 1 year, the wind farm will enter production" - Rama: Energy, the sector of open international competitions

During the presentation of the Tropoja wind farm, Prime Minister Edi Rama said:
"Within 12 months, not counting the period when winter is intense, this large wind energy park in Tropoja will enter the network of renewable energy producers in our country. Given the company's experience, the successful journey, it has marched in several countries, before reaching Albania. I am sure that we will gain new knowledge and added value in the culture of work and action in such a strategic sector.
This investment also goes in that strategic direction and on the path to fulfilling that major strategic objective of making Albania a sovereign country in energy production. We have had a dependence on water for a long period.
When we lacked rain, we had to go to the international market and buy large quantities at exorbitant prices.
The time when Albania must enter the market to buy energy is coming to an end. We will be in the category of those few countries that enjoy complete independence in the production of a vital substance in the organism of a state.
We have also implemented a high reliability process. The energy sector is the sector of open international competitions.
I am extremely happy to highlight this, since we are at a stage in our history where the word corruption is like those fashionable shoes, that if no one puts it in their mouth, it seems like it is not fashionable.
With about another 1,500 MW under construction, in the licensing process, our needs are guaranteed.
We will have another, very big advantage. Albania's advantage in relation to Serbia is that we are 100% green in energy production, we do not have the burden of paying the carbon tax in the past, which in Serbia is very heavy. For this reason, companies are looking at Albania with great interest. The reason why Italy and the Emirates are focused on this partnership with us is not because I wear white sneakers, but because Albania produces and sells clean energy, the value of which in Europe's energy portfolio is very high.
