Businesses without energy supplier - Only 1 application for Supplier of Last Resort, remains the competence of FSHU

The Supplier of Last Resort for liberalized businesses that fail to secure electricity supply will remain the Universal Service Provider, which is one of the companies of OSHEE Group. The Energy Regulatory Authority opened the procedure for selecting a company that could fulfill this role at the beginning of November, but at the end of the deadline, it was determined that the only application received from suppliers licensed by the ERE was that of FSHU. With only 1 applicant, the Regulatory Authority announced the closure of the procedure without competition.
The Supplier of Last Resort is a company licensed to carry out supply activities and charged with the obligation of last resort supply, which offers for a limited period of time the supply service under regulated conditions to customers, and which is subject to prices determined in accordance with the Methodology for determining the price of electricity sales by the Supplier of Last Resort, approved by the ERE.
This service is provided when the other supplier has discontinued the supply of electricity, when the customer has settled the obligations towards the previous supplier and when the customer has proven the impossibility of supplying electricity from other suppliers. Its definition is extremely important for all those businesses that have the obligation to choose their own supplier, but which for a number of reasons are unable to secure it. This also includes businesses that enter the liberalized energy market.
